About Me
I am currently working for Yahoo Inc.
I’ve graduated with a B.Tech in Information Technology at School of Computer Science. The dual degree programme is offered to B.E/B.Tech students of Anna University Main Campus, and the programme starts from the 2nd yr of the primary degree. It is offered to a total of 60 students per batch and the selection is based on merit. The programme was an application oriented course filled with lot of course work, programming and fun. We did extensive course work in several Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Electronics design, Computer Architecture, Database Management, Distributed Computing, Web Technology, etc. The faculty are well qualified and the lab facilities are extremely good.
I’ve graduated with a B.Tech in Industrial Biotechnology from Centre for Biotechnology. The programme was an interdisciplinary course filled with a lot of course work, experiments, and fun. We did extensive course work in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Technology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Computational Methods, Analytical Methods, Biochemistry and Immunology. The faculty are well qualified and the culture here is non-hierarchial. The SPIC Bioprocess lab located at Taramani campus is well equipped and has excellent facilities. In short studying there was fun.
In 2006, I got selected for Google - Summer of Code, an initiative by Google to encourage Opensource development by students. I worked with OpenSuSE to develop an “Abstract Package Build Description”.
In 2005, I had the opportunity to work with Prof. S. Ramakumar, Chairman, Bioinformatics Centre, Indian Institue of Sciences, Bangalore (IISC), India.
In 2004, I received the Summer Research Fellowship from Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore and the opportunity to work with Dr. Pijush K. Das, Molecular Cell Biology Division, Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), Kolkata, India.
I did my schooling at Sri Krishnaswamy Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Chennai, India. I was in the school orchestra, as a violinist and it was during those days that I acquired interest in music. The school days were filled with lots of fun and extra-curricular activities.
